How this crazy journey began

About 30 years ago, a friend and I came across an article in the Fort Worth Star Telegram and the title was something like “The Top 10 Burgers in Fort Worth” so we decided to try as many of those as we could and we really looked forward to the next time we could go out for lunch and try a new place. I can still remember some of the places we tried, Kincaid’s Grocery (of course), Tommy’s (I think there was only one location in Azle), Fred’s and some others. Something clicked and I found that eating, especially at new places, was really fun.

Fast forward to 1998, when we (my wife and I) moved into the area. I became fascinated with Magnolia, and the restaurants and bars and I consumed any information I could get about new restaurants, restaurants moving, etc.

Friends and family soon learned about this obsession of mine and then I would receive emails and texts wondering where was a good place for brunch, or where was my favorite BBQ place, etc.

Since then, a lot has happened. My wife passed, Clearfork became a thing and Crockett Row exploded, but my love and fascination with all things food and drink has not diminished at all. I’ve been thinking about starting this blog for a couple of years now, so here we go!
